Slopes classification of the motorable tracks for mining industry

Slopes classification: results obtained from 640 aerial images taken by the company Air City Diagnostic. Post-processing and analyzes by Drones Imaging.

Quarry 3D modeling with graphic overload of the tracks, classified and colored according to their slope.

Traffic tracks classification by color code (depending with the slopes) making it possible to study a mining site in order to identify the construction machinery most suitable for operating in an environment classified according to topographic criteria.

With this use case, classification by color (from green/flat to red/hilly) allows:

1 – The relationship between the mechanical wear of Volvo engines and the level of rough terrain.
2 – The identification of risk areas for trucks rotations (red class 15% slope).

Always concerned with the accessibility of our results, the use of the Sketchfab online service allowed to Volvo France: a fluid and immediate exploitation of the 3D model, without software or hardware constraints.
